Our goal was to kill all of the caster aspects of Hakkar and maybe even attempt to fight the Soulflayer himself. we were all eager to see what the latest patch had done to change the instance. We had a few surprises in store of us. Rico found that it wasn't a great idea to run into snakes and Strum found out it wasn't a good idea to loot Hoodoo Piles with MadMage in the raid. We also noticed that the rep for killing mobs was twice what it used to be and also that bijous now dropped like Belldark's pants when Bannta was around. Needless to say, we got a lot of bijous.
After about an hour, we made our way to the Arlokk's lair. We heard she had been nerfed and wanted to test it. Our first attempt found lots and lots of kitties and a wipe. Not discouraged, we steeled ourselves for a second attempt. This time, the pussy found herself quite molested by LadyValk and Rico. This pounding drove the kitty to an end. We were quite displeased by the loot. A Primal Hakkari piece that Belldark got and a green 18 slot bag that went to Skilly. Despite the loot, we succeeded in destroying her.
Next up was Thekal, the Tiger boss. We easily cleared up to him and started the fight. Our first attempt came to a screeching halt via stage two. With healers at low mana, and a few surprise deaths at the start, we got him to about 40%. Our second attempt was a tease; we tore through stage one and had him to 7% when he finished us off. After a quick swaping of paladins, we started a third attempt. This time, Tony was not doing so grrrrrrreat, and ate the dirt with a triumverate of crits from Skilly, Rico and Belldark. He dropped the +10 skinning sword, which was won by Rico.
Tonight, Solrain Navy proved that we can down all of the aspect bosses of hakkar. Now, only Jin'do, the summonable bosses, and Hakkar himself stand between us and total Zul'Gurub domination.
