We had lost the southern depot which gave the germans a wide open area to move troops through. This loss had us reeling to defend what was left with the ever growing German attack. Two hours into the battle we found our army base surrounded by tanks. In a last ditch effort to clear the base for friendly infantry, I had mounted a Hotchkiss and proceeded to clear out 4 of the 5 tanks that had us pinned in, after the next to last pz4G, I found myself staring down the barrel of another. My turret was promptly removed and I made a hasty retreat to Lillers to help form another armour collumn of Shermans to fight back the remaining german armor.
Upon reaching town, our armour collumn had destroyed six tanks and I the seventh. The armour collumn dispersed through-out town to provide support to our remaing faithful troopers and I found myself alone in the army base with another tank commander to fight off the german infestation in the area. My stay was short as I managed to get sapped while covering the other tank.
After loosing my Sherman I found myself in the western depot, providing cover fire for the recapture. We had finally regained control of most of the town, all that remained what the heavily defended southern depot. With myself on foot and Pyldrvr comming up in a Sherman he had found, we fought from the outside in, untill finally. The fight was over, I had gained entrance to the depot and recaputered it in the name of the allies. The overall battle lasted a good 3 or 4 hours and though we had little hope of winning, we pullied off yet another glorious victory in the face of the over powering Germans.
